Some people call it improv, we like to call it improvisational theatre. Because it is exactly like theatre, but improvised. And just like theatre, it needs constant improvement and crafting. And just like theatre, it speaks the truth about one self.

In this note, this class will work on two acting techniques that will develop and shape your improv skills even more.

Sanford Meisner and Michael Chekhov invisioned two methods that are very different, but very complementary. The Meisner technique is based on repetition and on creating meaningful contact with the scene parteners through a series of exercises. The Chekhov one, is a completely imaginative approach to experiencing the truth of the moment. You will use real life events to grow your range of emotions and portray them better.

The mere combination of these two, will take you to a superior level, where you shall discover the power of the present and will upgrade your collaboration on stage.

What you’ll learn

  • Connect with your scene parteners in a solid, unique way

  • Trust your impulses and give them a voice

  • Work on your emotional capacites and express them more naturally

  • Create a variety of characters that can better relate to one another.

Who this is for

This is one of our Bubbles. These courses are intended for improvisers who already have an understanding of the basics, perhaps (but not necessarily) through our own Starting Steps courses. If you’re wondering which course is right for you, then feel free to email us.

This particular course is suitable for both intermediate and advanced improvisers. One can never work TOO much on emotional connection after all :)
